Clifford Tyzick, YN3, (plankowner) passed away

8 OCT 2009. Clifford made the sketch of the

"landing at Leyte, P.I." He also painted a picture

of the Casa Grande by memory.

JIM JORDAN (57-60)

Received word that he went in for spinal surgery,

(tumor imbedded in spinal column) and now is paralyzed

from the chest down with no control of bodily functions

and no feeling in his legs.Would like to hear from Casa Grande

and other Navy buddies.

24 MAY 08 WITH HONOR GUARD AND TAPS.
THE CEMETARY ROADWAYS WERE LINED WITH
AMERICAN FLAGS. MEMORIAL DAY WAS WALT'S
FAVORITE HOLIDAY.

We have been informed that Claude Blackwell's wife Helen
passed away in March and that Claude will be undergoing surgery
for cancer. He helped a great deal with our first reunions, 2000 & 2001 with
his knowledge of contacted ship crew and reunion experience. The award
from the Association for his efforts was well deserved. Expressions of sympathy and
well wishes may be sent to, 1828 Burwillow Dr. Virginia Beach, VA 23464.

2010 CG Reunion returns to

VIRGINIA, BEACH.

OCTOBER 3 thru the 8th at the

Holiday Inn , the location of our 1st reunion.

The special CG rate is $89 dollars per night that

includes 1 , 2 , or 3 in a room. This is available

3 nights before and after reunion dates.

REUNION ASSOCIATION CHANGE

At the 2007 reunion business meeting, a
motion to have the yearly dues reduced to
$20 dollars for crew members and $10 dollars
for crew family members was adopted. The

Associate members remains at $15.00..
This begins with the 2008 year.
